Hi, I'm Daniel
I work as a project manager. I’m a parent. An expat living in Lisbon, Portugal.
A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter living abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Portugal wasn’t in the master plan. As with many expatriate relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far greater.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar processes, routines, and expectations. Daily chores seemed more complex than they needed to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture clash, ambiguity, and plenty of hands-on learning. Gradually, routines came together. We found spots that suited us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt secure.
Why I Built Drova Tin Quely
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism material. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site aims to fill that gap with practical advice drawn from real life in Portugal.
What This Site Stands For (And What It Doesn't)
This Site Is:
- Practical insights from living in Portugal
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated when something truly changes
This Site Isn't:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our time in Portugal continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Lisbon or anywhere in Portugal, please feel free to get in touch.
Best regards,
Daniel
